Major Bill Cage is a Media Relations Officer trying to recruit as many soldiers as possible for a counter attack against the Alien Invasion which has overrun most of Europe. As he learns he has to accompany the Invasion Force on the beaches of Normandy he tries to weasel his way out but gets sent as a mere soldier anyway. As the invasion turns into a blood bath, Cage gets himself killed -- and wakes up in the morning before the invasion. Doomed to endure the failed invasion day after day, he starts memorizing the events around him and then he begins changing them.
