To save his theater, the koala Buster Moon launches a singing contest. All animals who dream of careers as singers are invited to present their skills. Responding to this call the gorilla boy Johnny, the pig Rosita, the mouse Mike as well as the elefant girl Meena and the procupine lady Ash all give their best to win the contest and become a famous singer.
