A nameless CIA agent (John David Washington) is assigned to a new unit after a failed mission and his faked death. With no clear orders and only the word "Tenet", the protagonist and a British colleague (Robert Pattinson) embark on a spy mission in which the fate of the world is threatened by objects moving backwards through time and evil forces from the future.
