After failing to stop former child star Balthazar Bratt from stealing the largest diamond in the world, Gru gets fired from the Anti-Villain League and finds himself in the midst of a major identity crisis. As his adoptive daughter, Agnes tries to sell things for money, Gru receives news that he has a twin brother called Dru, who is a more successful and rich super villain. Gru decides to team up for one more heist and they plan to steal the diamond back.
